A portrait of Bobby F. Edmonds will be unveiled and placed in the South Carolina and Local History Room of the McCormick County Library on Saturday, October 26th at 10 am. Mr. Edmonds has written and published many books detailing the history of the McCormick area, and these books are the cornerstone of the local history collection in the library. Mr. Edmonds has received the Robert N. Pryor Award from the South Carolina Department of Archives and History as well as the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest civilian award.  In addition, Mr. Edmonds has served on the McCormick County Library Board since the 1970s and was instrumental in securing funding for the new facility completed in 2004. Please join us for the portrait unveiling ceremony on October 26th to honor Mr. Edmonds and his lifelong dedication to local history and to our public library.
