Your library is excited to announce a new grant award project with funding provided by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in conjunction with Tangled Bank Studios and PBS/Nature.
This spring and summer, the McCormick Library will join an initiative to help audiences across the country better understand and appreciate the role native bees and other pollinators play in healthy ecosystems. We will be encouraging the planting of native wildflower seeds at your home and throughout our county to help support pollinators.
The grant will fund a series of related programs for children and adults. With the help of the McCormick Garden Club, the grant will also fund the establishment of both annual and perennial bee gardens on the library grounds. And finally, the library will be distributing thousands of free seed packets containing a mix of beautiful wildflowers native to the southeast.
