On Thursday, November 10th at 6:30 pm Simpsonville retiree Keith Block will be at the McCormick County Library to talk about his adventures through-hiking the Appalachian Trail. The Appalachian Trail runs between Springer Mountain in northwest Georgia and Mount Katahdin, the highest mountain in the state of Maine. The trail is 2,179 miles long. Mr. Block will discuss the motivation, preparation, and determination that led him to take on, and complete, the A.T. at the age of 69. He will share photos and videos from his 168 day wilderness trek. Be prepared to hear of misery and triumph, of hazards and great beauty encountered along the way. The presentation is free and all are welcome to attend.
