The McCormick County Library now offers audio books on portable digital players called Playaways. These small players are each pre-loaded with one book and can easily fit in your pocket. Attach ear buds or your own headphones and you are ready to listen anywhere. The handy, high-tech devices have many advantages. There is no need to juggle multiple CDs, worry about scratching a disc, or download anything to a device. They can also be connected to the audio jack in your car or to a set of external speakers. Patrons may checkout these audio books two at a time for a period of three weeks. Batteries are included and ear buds may be included for a $3 deposit.
